The bright bouquet of ranunculus, Mokara orchids, tulips and yellow callas popped against Alison‘s ivory gown.
The bridesmaids were sunny in strapless yellow gowns, while the groomsmen stayed traditional in black tuxedos.
Alison wore simple, ivory satin shoes by Gracie with a touch of beading at the center of each bow.
Mixing modern themes with tradition, Alison and Rick had a Christian ceremony at sunset. Alison‘s uncle read her favorite verse from the Bible: Colossians – Chapter 3:12-19.
Gerbera daisies, veronica, tulips and spray roses were fastened to each aisle chair during the ceremony. Yellow bags with rose petals were placed on every seat for guess to toss during the recessional.
Guests sipped on drinks and listened to live music on the wraparound porch while the sun set in the background.
Not wanting to overwhelm the elegant decor of the colonial-style Pierre‘s Restaurant, the couple‘s planner used simple white linens, votives and a mix of tulips, spray roses and orchids to embellish the dining area.
Alison‘s sister and brother-in-law wowed guests with a fireworks display they bought for the newlyweds as a gift. All of the fireworks were white until the finale, when shades of pink and orange lit up the sky.
Monogrammed napkins with orange and coral print perfectly matched decor of the reception site.
Arrangements of orange ranunculus in glass vases served as holders for the table numbers, while light from votive candles cast a glow over the bright blooms.
The four-tiered key lime cake with ivory fondant frosting was decorated with different color orchids. The couple cut the cake to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson.
Following the fireworks, Alison and Rick danced together for the first time as husband and wife to "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison.
Rick created CDs of the couple‘s favorite songs for guests to take home. The discs were wrapped in orange and white jackets with a pink ribbon and thank-you seal.
Guests also took home boxes of handmade chocolates presented in orange boxes with dark pink ribbon.
Alison was working at a beach resort when Rick visited his brother, Joe, at his vacation cottage. There was a full moon during Rick's stay, and on such nights the resort restaurant hosts a beach party. Alison saw Rick and fell for him right away, so she was disappointed when he went back to Missouri. What she didn't know was he had gotten her number from Joe, and after a few phone calls, Rick was calling to set up a trip to see her.

The Date April 12

One trip turned into many, and after dating for two years, Rick proposed, and a year after that, the couple wed at Pierre's restaurant, where they first met.
